Language Services Grassroots Indigenous Multimedia provides two kinds of services. One is teacher training on the use of the Ojibwemodaa software; the other is partnering with an indigenous nation that is interested in creating the Language Now software (immersion environment) and/or the Before You Know It electronic flashcards. Consulting and Training If your group is interested or has purchased the software but would like to spend a day or two getting into more depth on its uses, our staff is available to provide training and assistance. Mary Hermes has 15 years' experience in teacher education and has done extensive work with communities as well. She taught a demo version of Ojibwemodaa for grades six, seven and eight and has had great success using it in Master of Education classes with adults. Nora Livesay is steeped in Ojibwe grammar expertise and is really a wiz at technology, providing great on-site technical training. Kevin Roach (Bad River) is a former teacher at tribal schools and is one of the main designers and technical forces behind Ojibwemodaa. He has done the audio/video recording and engineering, among many other things. He is a very rezy guy and knows the software well. Contact Mary Hermes (below) to discuss the possibility of any one of us visiting you for a workshop or training. Contact Mary Hermes at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
